Chief New Orleans Geek steps down
Anthony Jones has stepped down from his post as the city’s super geek. Nagin sure is having trouble with this position. From Meffert and his party boat, crime cameras that don’t work, to a city web page that is a piece of crap, New Orleans needs a good super geek. Like most positions in the mayor’s administration people are hired for their political motives and not their actual skills. That’s really not helping the recovery of the city. Mayor Mook needs to get the fuck out of the way and let this city recover without his constant stream of bullshit.
Jones was the third person to hold the post of chief technology officer, which was created by the Nagin admininistration in 2002 and carries a salary of $160,000. Jones followed Greg Meffert, who left City Hall in 2006, and Mark Kurt, who resigned in early 2007.
