Katrina Eve

It was Sunday morning, I called a buddy I work with and asked him to pick me up and take me downtown to the office. I did what I had to do to prepare the office for the storm. On our way out people were just starting to line up at the dome. Bags and pillows in hand they stood in a light sprinke of rain. As I rode home with my friend we talked about the possible outcomes of the storm. He predicted total Chaos after the storm. I wasn’t so sure I figured there would be some grocery store looting where all the booze and cigarettes would be stolen but I did not think it was going to be any worse than it had been in the past. At this point I knew I would be riding the storm out at home. The car wasn’t running and I had not made arrangements to leave with anyone. I walked to the corner, bought a newspaper and waited.

Chris, did your mother leave before the storm? I wanted John to leave with the dogs, but he would not leave me in the city. I had to work. I was so glad he stayed with me, Tues. night after the storm it was a war zone.

No Mom was at the house with me. Remember drinking warm beer at Miss Maes Tuesday afternoon?

  3. Denise says:

Yes I remember that, for Gustav I made sure to have beer iced down!
