I got an email this morning, in the email I was referred to as a sarcastic bastard. I think they have me all wrong my dominant trait is definitely cynicism.

Weekend

Monday, June 9th, 2008

I had a good weekend, as always it was too short. Started off the weekend working around the house, getting rid of stuff. While many people here in New Orleans lost all of their stuff after the storm, I lost nothing, therefore I am now having to get rid of some clutter so that we can sell the house.

Saturday night I went out and had more fun than a human being should be allowed to have. Of course Sunday morning was a little rough. I went out on an early morning Jog/walk to detoxify myself. The heat and humidity made it really hard to suck air so I did more walking than jogging. After an hour and a half in the heat I was done. I must admit my hangover was gone. My weight is down to 212, at the end of march I was weighing in at 238. If I get rid of another 12 or 13 pounds I think I will be comfortable and be able to get into some clothes that I have not been able to wear for the last couple of years.

The afternoon found me at the Prytania Theater watching Indiana Jones for the second time. I just wanted to get out of the house. I must say I liked the movie better the second time than the first. Monday finds me at work in a very relaxed state of mind. This is a good thing, I just checked my email and it looks like I have a lot on my plate over the next couple of days.

Some asides

On the price of gas: I was talking with a friend last night who told me a story about the fuel warning light in his van coming on. He decided he would put $10 worth of gas in the van so that he could get home. After pumping the ten dollars worth into the van he started for home. Of course ten dollars worth wasn’t enough to make the warning light go out.

Blame it on Katrina: I have been getting some long overdue dental work done lately. Of course I have been avoiding the dentist for a while, long before Katrina hit. Talking to the dental assistant she said lots of people have neglected their teeth since Katrina. I nodded as if to say yes thats it, all this overdue work is because of Katrina.

Forgotten Lunch: For the fifth day in a row I packed a lunch to bring to work and left it at home in the refrigerator.

Still Smoking: I haven’t been able to get rid of the cigarettes, still not smoking like a forest fire but I can’t seem to quit those two or three a day. (cough cough).

Can’t wait for the Jazz Fest: There are a couple of days that have lineups that I want to see. Already have the hat sunglasses and shorts ready.
