Bonnet Carre to Open

I’ve always been fascinated by the river in the springtime when the water level gets high, like it is now. Not surprisingly the Corps of Engineers will open the Bonnet Carre spillway on Friday. Having kept track of the water level for the last few days, I can’t remember when I last saw the river this high. Like hurricanes, the high river in the spring always reminds me that we are a city that lives on the edge. I think that s one of the things I like about living here.
