The latest drama coming out of N.O.P.D. is an officer pulling her weapon without cause. Riley describes the incident as embarrassing, I think it may be worse than that, I think it is dangerous. The speeding cop incident is also dangerous behavior by a police officer. In the rush to restock the N.O.P.D. with new blood are the right people being accepted for the job, are the proper screenings being done before they are accepted to the academy.

The saddest thing that I find with the whole situation is that the good cops, the ones performing their duties properly and professionally all take a credibility hit when things like this happen. My experiences with N.O.P.D. have always been good, I hate to see the good cops being lumped in with the bad cops at N.O.P.D.

I must be mellowing in my old age I used to be able to express a lot of anger and drop a few F bombs when I post. After reading some of my fellow Nola Blogger posts on the NOPD I am definitely G rated.

It’s time to put things in perspective: I don’t care if the guy with less than 5 years crossing the CCC at 90 miles an hour is black, white, or purple, he should be removed from endangering the public. The guy with 35+ years who wears an “improper uniform” which could be stretched to insubordination, is disenfranchised after this level of service?

THe article in today’s T.P. Crescent City Connection police seek district attorney’s discretion on charges against NOPD officer

What is there to consider, my understanding is that he was doing 90 on the bridge and then ran from the police. He should be treated like any other citizen would be under the same circumstances. This is the kind of shit that has given this city it’s reputation and this is the kind of shit that needs to stop. New, New Orleans my ass, this is the same ol good ol boy shit that has been going on as long as I have lived here.

It’s the same kind of shit that took place when Eddie Price the Mayor of Mandeville ran through a Causeway barricade. What a drunk.

What is up with this N.O.P.D. officer who got pulled over on the Crescent City Connection. by the Bridge Authority Police for speeding. Why not take the ticket and be done with it, or take the ticket and get it fixed, however you want to play it. Instead he takes off and heads for the 1st district station. Now his career is on the line, I just don’t get it.
